Recent projects

Our team is currently working on various projects at different stages of development. Here are some recent examples of projects at different stages of completion.

Museum for Geretsried

The city of Geretsried has experienced rapid development over a relatively short period of time. After the war, an armament factory became home to many migrants and refugees. In its 60-year history, the former bunker plant has become the most prosperous city of a region nestled in attractive natural landscapes. Die Werft was commissioned by the city council to create a new permanent exhibition to capture the fascinating history of the city. Planning is currently underway in close consultation with the local museum support group and the city council.

Evolution of the Universe

This exhibition is a joint project of five Munich research institutes. The European Organisation for Astronomical Research in the Southern Hemisphere (ESO), the Excellence Cluster Universe and the Max Planck Institute for Physics (MPP), Astrophysics (MPA) and Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) pooled their resources to mark the International Year of Astronomy 2009 by staging a joint exhibition at the Deutsches Museum over a two-year period.

From Royal Dream to Mass Production

”From Royal Dream to Mass Production - 300 Years of European Porcelain. A success story”, this exhibition in two locations traces the journey of porcelain design from its conception to the current day, documenting all the changes in form, style and function. Though firmly anchored in the present, it is devoted to tracing the historical development of porcelain design and highlighting the international similarities and differences along the way. It includes the fact that porcelain – an important material that has enhanced our living spaces for centuries – has also had a significant impact on architecture, from hygiene facilities and tiles to ornamental embellishments. The exhibition addresses aspects like “Porcelain and Lifestyles” and also lets the people involved – of yesterday and today – express their views on the subject.

”World of Jewellery” in Pforzheim

After five successful years and one million visitors, the “World of Jewellery” in Pforzheim is being updated to reflect the latest trends in sales and operational experience. The focus of this upgrade is on modernising the outward appearance and fine-tuning the profile of the range of jewellery displayed. The new measures offer more scope to reflect the trend towards emotional aspects of purchasing – the move away from needs-driven purchases to shopping as a leisure activity.
