For almost 100 years, Knorr–Bremse has been the world´s leading manufacturer of brake systems for rail and commercial vehicles. The company name stands for continual innovation, top quality and safety on all surfaces. To make these core values come alive in a three-dimensional, multimedia setting, the Knorr-Bremse in-house agency, KB Media often calls on the design expertise and multimedia skills of Die Werft. Since the start of our association with them, around 40 different projects have been completed– from trade fair appearances and factory remodelling to classic interior design work.

Knorr-Bremse stops the traffic at the 850-year anniversary of Munich

During the 850-year anniversary celebrations of the City of Munich, Knorr-Bremse AG set itself up as the "Cutting-edge Technology Stop" right next to the main stage at the famous Karlsplatz/Stachus square. Die Werft was commissioned to design and plan the stand and was also responsible for the execution and running of the event.

The stage was a happening place with many different attractions. A photographer created photos of visitors in an historic context, a slot-car track for trucks encouraged people to drive at speed in a controlled environment or manually turn a set of brake pads smoking hot. Another very popular highlight was an articulated truck from the original Munich underground rail system.

The concept was entirely focused on the core business of Knorr-Bremse AG – the world´s leading manufacturer of brake systems for rail and commercial vehicles. The design of the stand was reminiscent of a railway station, complete with a platform and incoming trains, trams, buses and commercial vehicles. Knorr-Bremse presented itself to visitors via classic advertising hoardings along the platform, which not only gave them a good idea of the technology, but also the company´s initiatives in social and cultural contexts. Information counters and benches for waiting visitors completed the overall picture of the "Cutting-edge Technology Stop´.
